Dear All,
Got a bit of the problem. The edition 30's chewed a set of front Bridgestone Potenza's, down to the wear markers on both. I phoned the stealer this morning and they have told me to bring the car down to change the tyres, however - under the maintenance package the only tyres available to me are Continentals, now, my issue is that the Bridgestones on the back are well within limits and I don't want a set of mixed tyres on my 3month old performance car. I have already got used to the handling characterisitics of the car and don't want to upset the balance by having different tyres front and back - WHAT DO I DO. I did state that I was unhappy to get mixed and matched tyres, but they stated that they would only change the two fronts - WHAT DO I DO ?
Regards,
Gareth

Providing they fit Continental SportContact3s, then you'll be fine. The Contis are an excellent tyre, on par with the Mich PS2s, and I'd personally state the Contis would be better than the Bridgestones.
Replacing an axle pair is normally OK, even with different makes of similar "spec'ed" tyres. Only Goodyear seem to have a problem in this area!

I had Conti 3's fitted under the maintenance package too and they are a very good tyre, so don't worry. The handling characteristics won't change that much!

....If you really want matching tyres all around, you could always come to a private arrangement with your dealer.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having the maintenance package though? :undecided:
With 6mm left on the rears he'd probably be looking at paying two-thirds of the cost of the rear tyres.

Yup. This is just one of many reasons why the maintenance package is not really suitable.

....All I'm prepared to say publicly is that you most definitely can come to a private arrangement with your dealer while under the Maintenance Plan which includes tyres, such that you can have the tyres of your choice.

Thanks to all for replying, suppose thats not to bad - I'll just make sure that the bridgestones that'll be swapped to the front don't last that long
Hmmmm ........ where's that ESP button again.
Thank you to all - feel a lot better now.
