hi whats the best tyres for a vr6 running 205x40x17 thanks
-
i would say either toyo proxes t1r's or yoko paradas
-
Running Toyos on my 8V, well happy with them.
-
i dont know if they come in that size, but i run goodyear eagle f1's. Very good imo
-
goodyear f1's, Iv had loads of tyres on my clio sport (which i drive hard) and i find these the best. Will be getting a set on the front of the mk3 gti in the near furture
-
Falken ZE 912's
-
I think everybody will hold different opinions on their trye favourites.....I had some marshall's on the front of mine that got rave reviews on blackcircles.com but I found them bad as they caused me loads on wheelspin in the wet... I now have fulda's and they seem to be much better.
-
I'm running Yokohamas atm and I wouldnt recommend them!
High wear rate and not grippy in wet!
I might try Pirelli next as they good enough for Ferrari!
-
I got proxy t1-r's on my 8v, i do 600 miles a weekend and they are fab, i do motorway and lane driving in wet/dry/sleet and they are so responsive!!
-
I'm running Pirelli P6000 (195/50/15) all round really good grip in dry and wet got them from blackcircles.com
-
I see lots of people with GTi's that have 195/50/15
Both sets of my standard GTi alloys are 205/45/15's (I bought some off ebay hoping to paint the other set)
Whats the difference and are mine better being slightly bigger?
-
The early models came with 195/50 and then in 93/94 they got 205/50's.....some people dont like the extra cost of 205's or if your like me 205's rub too much!! hence me running 195's I didn't notice any change in hadling etc when i swapped, so neither are really better
-
205's to me look to buldgy and also they rub when your slammed like me.
195's look a better fit i think.
-
ive ran on 195 before on other cars and find that they dont hold road in the wet 205 much better as the foot pattern is wider used to have 225 on my omega v6 and no way could u get them to spin or slide
-
any1 ever used coopers??i use them an find there a nice soft compound mint in dry an pretty gd in wet part from wheelspining! the only thing i hate is my car is lowered 60mm on 205.40.17 an they rub a lot but its gota rub if its a vdub lol but still i only get 6000-7000max on a set of tires an thats if i dnt wheel spin!!
