I know there's one girl with a GTI in my town, but not a dubber. I don't know her, but she doesn't drive it hard or keep it very clean.
There are a few girls with golf GTs alright. Mostly GT TDIs. Again not a modder in sight though, just people looking for a higher spec golf without going for a GTI.

Seen a couple a of MK5 GTI's locally with female drivers (all silver ones), don't think any of them are dubbers though.

I'm a girl!

....Well said! We like a balance here

Most of the female Mk5 GTI drivers I've seen are middle-aged (in their 50's) and it's obviously "just a car" in their eyes. I will say that when women are into their driving, they're invariably very good at it.

The Mk4 Golf and TDI in particular, became a status symbol for young but successful women in suits in the corporate world. You still see that with women driving grey or black Mk5 Golf TDI's but nothing as 'sporty' as the GTI. A few good looking females drive Mk4 R32's though! A big turn-on!

I'm a girl!

So, apart from winking at us, how would you describe yourself as a driver and your enthusiasm for the GTI (you must be an enthusiast to have bothered to register here)?

Please don't tell me you're a music DJ as well!

Please don't tell me you're a music DJ as well!

1) I think I'm a pretty decent driver, but my husband is a professional driver trainer and constantly criticises my driving so he does most of it. I love driving my car on my own, though.

2) I've loved the Golf GTi since the Mark2 (when I was a little girl ), but only fairly recently been able to afford a good one. My hubby refused to let me buy a Mark4 because he said they were rubbish, so I saved up for the MkV.

3) No, DJ is just my initials!

As you can see, I don't post much, but I do read most days to pick up hints and tips

Welcome DJGTi. Nice to have a womens voice for a change in here .

All users should purchase the GolfGti .co.uk car stickers so would be easier to spot on the road.

ive not been payed by the management for this outburst, i think the "spotted" section would be a better thread for it.

I have the factory tints.

I have three stickers, one in the rear window and one on either side of the rear windows. They aren't as obvious as you might expect, but can be seen "up close and personal"

My mom uses our Gti as her daily. Shes 40 and blonde.

Drives it like its a Prius and today when my dad said she must drive the GTi to drop the kids off instead of the new bakkie she actually groaned  :embarassed:

I think the GTi may go soon... She just loves her small, 1.8 litre cars...

....Strange isn't it that seeing a hot girlie driving a nice car always greatly excites us males! I was recently talking to a very attractive blonde (friend of a friend) who does about 50k miles a year and we got talking about male drivers reaction to her. Her golden rule is never ever look their way - Totally ignore their existence. She said she'd even been followed by some nerdy types on occasion (but that I could follow her home any day! Flirt!!).

I'm a girl! (woman really) and to me its not just a car i am hooked

By the way i work as a Pyrotechnician and on Friday i was up on the Police Station roof in sunny Blackpool doing the Fireworks for the Light switch on and spent all evening looking down on the Top Gear Crew (including the stig who left his helmet on the whole time) he must have been baking, think they were doing another challenge as they were being filmed the whole time, they arrived in a Polo and a Daimler (i think) with there petrol caps sealed, so we will wait and see what that one was about, a mate of mine past them on the M1 in Northampton in the same cars with a Freelander infront of them filming out the back the same one arrived in Blackpool still filming.
Mind you i was more interested in Boyzone!

Golfgirl drives an ED30

Did someone say me name?

I am a female enthusiast.  At the moment my car is standard but I do have future modification plans.  Before my Edition 30 I owned a highly modified Mk 4 R32 which I took on track days and to the Nurburgring.  I even assisted the other half in doing some of the modifications myself....such as fitting the sports cats and I also fitted the K&N Typhoon myself with a bit of guidance.  Before the R32 I had a Mk 3 GTI 16v and that was modified too. I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty or breaking a nail, and TBH I actually enjoy it and prefer to help with fitting stuff as it helps me understand cars a bit more.  Some people assume my boyfriend has an influence on me but that is so wrong - everything I have done to my cars has been my choice.  He's not liked everything I've done but it's my car and my money so I'll spend it how I wish

I know more than the average chick about cars, and also know more than a lot of blokes at work and sometimes I can have a conversation about cars and the blokes admit that I'm rambling on about something they don't understand

I'm not your typical female driver either....I don't kerb my wheels every time I park, I drive "enthusiastically" and don't just use the car for shopping.  My car is my hobby, I look after it and hate getting it dirty.

I've not had it with this car yet, but when I owned the R32 most people assumed it was my boyfriends.  When I corrected them they were surprised.  They asked what R32 meant, and asked if it was like a GTI.  When I went into the ins & outs of it they looked a bit sheepish that a girl actually a) had a decent car, b) knew what she was talking about, c) corrected them in their assumption that it was my boyfriends and d) realised that they thought they knew something about Golfs but didn't know what an R32 was.

Its always a welcome to sight to see a nice girl driving a nice car and looking as if they know what they're doing, rather than driving a big/fast/nice car but then knowing nothing of its performance and pedigree only being concerned with image. Usually Merc CLK/SLK conv drivers in my experience! Equally i have little to no time for blokes that don't have some sort of basic interest/appreciation for cars on a general level!

There is defo something about a girl driving a fast car thats a turn on!! Not just your usual go to the showroom and pick it up crap.. but an enthusiasts car like the golf.

My x-gf used to have a cooperS which she would happily hammer the sh1t out. then moved onto a BoxterS... spanked the cr4p out of it! And has now down scalled to a TT... she must be getting old  Its all good cos I still manage to spank her every now and then

She loves the .:R tho... and I am quite sure its my enthusiasm that still draws her to fast cars! A job well done I say
