Title: FOG LIGHT LOOM
Post by: 01664gti on 29 August 2008, 20:15
Hi all, i am fitting the front loom for the fogs tommorrow, and just wondered that once the looms in will the lights just work or will i need to add a relay???.

If this is the case which location do i need to plug the relay into??

You will need a new headlight switch mate, one that turns on the front fogs(ebay/breaker). After that it is just plug and play

The front fog switch has 2 pulls..once for rear fogs and twice for fronts and back..... I am guessing youll have the single pull type?

when u say green light, the centre of the knob should illuminate green as should all the little iconns around the switch too (bulb not working is common but easy fix)

theirs 2 leds that light up too for the fogs

should take you around 20 -30 mins to get the front fogs wired in and working

Thats ok i dont mind lol, im just wondering what bulbs to get tho. The ones that are in them are a bit rusty so i want to change them

bulbs are fitted nfrom behind the unit, take out the fog light and twist the cap, bulb is inside but if its rusty that is prob the projector, you can take the lense off but i wouldnt as it will never seal again and probably break when u remove/refit it

mk 3 foglight are notorious for leaking water in, sounds like yours have done at some point

what i did with my anniversary smoked ones when i got them was seal the hell out of them before they even saw my car, they have never leaked in, but my old standard ones never did either and i didnt ever seal those...
