good review of a great looking car, i think most modern cars lack the feel and excitement of older cars. yeh they might be lightyears ahead in the technology and comfort but its the driving experiance that matters and IMHO if you dont have that the car really isnt worth it, cracking alloys though wont be long until someone has them on there golf
-
....Thanks
I agree - Driving a car needs to be a tactile experience to enjoy it the most.
VW are also using those alloys on the Passat CC. They should have also offered them on the Mk5 R32 but now it's too late as production has ended.

I wonder if we'll eventually see a Scirocco with the R36 engine in it (from the Passat R36). Apparently we were "going to see a lot more of that engine".
I'd say its quite likely.
-
I'd say maybe. They've ditched the V6's from the Golf line up for the MKVI with the .:R being a 2.0 4 pot turbo with 4wd and a little more power than the GTI.

I saw that. I thought maybe they might try to differentiate the Scirocco from the golf with the V6 engine. Hope so.

think they are trying to make 'green' hot hatches now, think the v6 might have had its day

thorough review robin, and nice one on getting a freebie trial when they know you aren't even gonna buy one
The back end reminds me of the Subaru Impreza WRX Estates

I was following one of these yesterday and i have to say... absolutely f*cking gorgeous! In candy white? or similar. Looked truly fantastic in the flesh!

The scirroco looks so amazing in the metallic green. I hope they don't bring out the r36 version for 3 years then maybe I can afford one!

I was at the VW dealership on Saturday and WOW  They had a Blue Rocco there is was very nice, the rear end in the flesh is not as bad as the images you've seen... Very nice motor overall! I was quizing the guys about future Rocco's and the Golf VI... they have no more info
Glad you got a test ride even though you're not buying one :afro:
