Hi,
I seem to have lost my electric windows on the drivers side. I have swapped the button in the dash hoping it was the problem, but nothing has happened.
What else could it be, and how can I test?
I'm a car noob and really need my hand holding :D

can you hear any noise at all from the motor when pressin the switch? you'll have to have the door card off to investigate, try jumpin the motor with 12v, if it moves then you know its a wirin fault.

Out of curiosity, if it's not a wiring fault, where's the best place to get a new motor?
-
i would be searchin the bay of e, just make sure they're gen VAG units. gsf sell new ones, not gen but not bad quality though!
one thing to try, hold the button down while someone proper slams the door, might jolt it loose

Could it be a relay or anything? If so how do I check it?
Am I showing my car noobness yet

if the other window works its not the fuse or realy as they both work off the same one :)

Where is the relay located???????

Mine's hidden away behind the centre consol. Christ knows why they put it there.

I had a problem with my driver side window. I stripped the door down and found that one of the rollers the wire runs around had started to disintegrate. Bought a new one off E-Bay. Not OEM, they are next to impossible to find but it works fine. Just make sure you get the right one for your year model.
