Title: Is an offset of 50 too much?

As per the title, is an offset of 50 too much for the mk5?
I ask because I've spotted these and think they look amazing:

The standard fit on 18's is 7.5" width alloys at a 51 offset. These should be okay.

8" width and ET50 is perfect for the mk5

Lovin the car. Not the alloys - too much like the focus st ones, but with a flatter 'v' bit at the end of each spoke.
