a girl my sister and misuss works with saw my mk3 and asked if id be interested in buying her VR6 ..
do you guys think there is any chance of insuring one at 20? 2 years no claims, 1 sp30 and partial blame for a crash...
-
Anythings possibler if you show them the wedge. Try bell, i could get insurance on vr's at that age with no no claims and a fault accident, thats not to say it was under a grand though.
-
'm insured on a mk4 20VT at 20 so alot is possible. and cheaper than you think probably.
-
If you can get a quote for less than £1500 fully comp, bite their arm off.
-
I reckong its possible!
Try Bell as said, they've been good for me!
-
I got a quote not long ago for a vr and it was about 1600. Get on confused.com cause im only 20 as well.
-
I reckon it will be about 2k will be very suprised if its much cheaper than that.
-
check out elephant.com
Good prices, and underwriten by Admiral

just be carefull of online insurance quotes (and especially price comparison websites) as they will produce a quote with the most minimal of details and when you get the real quote (with all the the other info that is requested)
i got caught out with confused.con (and there minimal info requirement) and thats why i dont have a vr6.....

i was looking at a vr6. I can get insured for about 1500 on one. TPFT 0 NCB 2 Years driving. 20 years old.
-
Its always worth getting a Fully comp price aswell I have found out several times that its actually cheaper.
-
I will be purchasing a vr6 fairly soon i think, wether insure or drive it before summer im not sure. But i do want one, make it up to be a nice show car. lol. SHINY.
Guess the proof will be when the insurance certificate lands on my door step.
-
thanks for the replies guys, saw the car today and its a left hooker with LT on the plates Lithuania? really nice colour tho, kinda black/purple. think i will give it a miss tho. Going into the navy in december so will be selling the mk3  and ploughing all the money into the mk2 (full respray / re trim) and buying a new celica or mk5 gti to have as a daily
-
First dibs on the angel eyes when you sell :)
How are you going to afford a MK5 GTI then? If you can't afford a VR6? (to insure that is lol!)
-
found out i could insure a vr6 for £1357.80 to be exact  but i really have a hankering ( ) for a celica
if i was to get a mk5 gti then limited mileage policy looks the best way
-
That ain't too bad for a VR6, considering I'm paying £1400 on a 1.8 GL lol!
I'd love a Celica too...you're not the only one.
-
Why even bother with a VR6? Its just heavier and not much power gain over a 16v GTi 2L.
Your better off going with Admiral and getting a 16v.
