The moment I know you've all been waiting for..
Here are pics of the MK3 we picked up on Friday. Was just meant to be a little run about while we replace our daily car, but we absolutely love it!! We'll either be keeping it and spending money to make it a bit tidier, or selling it on and buying a minter someone else has already spent out on!!

So come on then... What is wrong with it? There is clearly a rusty dint, a missing mudflap and sideskirt sections.. Anyone know what colour (it has no service book or sticker in the boot!) it is?
-
very nice :) loose all the mudflaps ;)
-
LOL - I would but I'm worried what will fall off if I do
-
nice motor mate,i like the colour, but its 3 doors all the way for me.
edit-- it looks like its missing a mudflap!!??
-
nice colour pal . I would mint that one dont want someone elses work
-
looks like its had a crash front drivers side. As a bent rusted wing, and a graze on the bumper, which dont tie up, and a grille with no gti badge... Check and see if the head lamps match :/ Its hit something, not hard but still hit something. lol.
Also missing the rear toeing eye cover.
But it looks pretty sweet mate, cant see any probs with it. Looks minter than my write off!!! lol
Hope to see it at some shows

my second fave colour for a mk 3 that, indian red, and it will clean up to be pretty mint that car believe me...
nice mk 3 that with alot of potential

Nice car, love the colour, Rear towing eye
colour is £3.10 from the dealers, got one the other day.

I think it might have had some minor damage all along the drivers side tbh. The front door has a little crease, the rear door looks like a low budget re-spray.. All panels line up though, so will see how we go with a machine polish.
Will be popping to my bodyshop tomorrow too to find out what the estimate is for the bits I want doing. Booked in to my mates garage to get it up on the ramps on Monday to give it a proper look over all over and under..

lose the mudflaps and towbar and with a polish (and the little damage sorting) that will be a nice motor.... I agree with kells the indian red is
-
Looks a nice car but lose the mudflaps.
-
LOL - you guys love the mudflaps
I'm actually very tempted to keep them, want to keep it as standard looking as possible. This and it having 5 doors, it looks a little less chav, and helps me to blend in with society, rather than have the barry boys lining up next to me for a traffic light grand prix..
The towbar, while it's a good reverse parking sensor, may have to go.. I've got a motorbike I might get a trailer for and track, but it can go back on if I do that.
Oh, the rear gti badge has been removed (badly..) which may explain the lack of front badge.
-
My GTi doesn't have a front badge and i'm not sure that they all do?
I'll probably be fitting one at some stage though!

They would have done at some point.

i think the mudflaps look great!
oh who am i trying to kid... lose them!
badges are a quick fix from the stealer... you could replace the middle rear vw emblem with either a shiny silver one or a black one
i'd machine polish the paint where the other badge was removed though
other than that it looks pretty straight... like the fact that you're going to keep it original
-
I'm going to see 2 mates tonight about machine polishing too, get it booked in with them after Trax. Badges and tow eye defo on the list from the dealer.
As for original - it becomes hard when you see things like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320290113207&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=011
If you can't see the item, BBS wheels refurbed in alloy/grey. Got a very big soft spot for all things anthracite!
