Title: top mount questen

i just wanna know if my top mounts are gone would i be able to push the schok up and down i can see it under the bonnet where it bolts on it lifts in and uot if u get what i mean i need some help got mot on sat

i have my old golf whitch has new shock and top mounts witch im breaking so if i just change the hole shok whould that fix the top mounts or are thaey not connected to them

the mounts are bolted to the shocks aye, just undo the top nuts and swap the complete shock unit over :)
