HELLO, i have been a way from the VW seen for some years (about 13) when i used to be regional host for club GTi.
I have just found a nice MK3 GTi Anniversary 8v and although it is in great condition there are a few things i need to sort!
1st it has been lowered with FK coilovers at the front and H&R springs and dampers at the rear! all very new items but, the car needs to be practical for my family so i am looking for a sensibly priced suspension as when i have my kids 6 & 9 in the back it rubs not helped by the fact it has 8j x 17 inch wheels (Very rare Compomotive COMP) which i am also selling as i want to get it looking more stock.
Car drives and handles superb only until i get the kids in the back! would probably be ok with thinner wheels.
I have been looking at the Jamex Sportline 30/25MM Lowered Suspension Kit 141041, but dont know to much about them? its priced at £120 new which seems very reasonable!
The FK's & H&R setup will go up for sale once i have sorted.
As said i need the car to be practical not slammed, so if you can sugest any setups or know about the jamex your comments would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

is this car blue by any chance??? was someones on here, think they did it up as it had bits missing etc, i know he had changed the suspension etc as he got it second hand, (nearly new if i remember correct)
the jamex kit you mention should be great, i run jamex coilovers on mine and its a brand i trust, id go for that..

Got some Jamex kit off ebay for my vr for the same price and had nothing but trouble, but now its sorted i have to say the actual kit isn't half bad, i have 3 kids in the back regularly and have no issues although im running on 16's which i think are 6.5j mk4 wheels.
The actual trouble i had was the seller sending me the wrong bits for my car, not with the quality of the goods.

HI, thanks for the reply's! what trouble did you have with the ebay one's?
-
Being sent the wrong parts, no instructions ect.
-
Why not run coilovers but set them higher, the hottuning ones are much better quality then jamax.
-
And... you can buy them in a group buy for 150 quid in a group buy and your height is ur oyster then :D

I'd seen the Jamex kit and couldn't beleive the price! £120 for for shocks and springs seems very reasonable. Mine seems particularly worn, so may invest in these at some point.
Coilovers aren't for me. Love the ride adjustment on them, but I had them on a Fiesta. It handled like nothing I've driven before, into roundabouts at speeds I didn't think possible. But, it was so solid it was impractical, and any sniff of a pothole took small chunks out of my wheels!
If you get the Jamex kit, let us know how you get on
