Title: shakey jake!!
Post by: Benny T on 24 August 2008, 09:42
When ever i pull away my car shakes! You know when you don't have the clutch quite at the correct bighting point, but it's not that because it does it when i have the clutch pretty far in and out. It seems to be worse in reverse and kinda clunks a bit too.
I've got it pretty low on coilovers which i think could be part of it.... Could the clutch need adjusting?

if you have clutch judder the only cure is a new clutch.   Could be worn or contaminated if its doing that.

I would also check the engine mounts as these a prone to failure.....I had one go on my old gti and it juddered as the engine was moving lots under acceleration

If its the front mount thats gone, you can replace with 3 ice hockey pucks and it will be like running a vibramount on it.. awesome stuff at a minimal cost!
