When driving at speed, with revs over 3000rpm and you then slow down, I can hear a slight hissing sound. What is it? Mate with DSG has the same thing but slightly louder.
Secondly, when I'm moving very slowly (under clutch control only, say when leaving garage) and then brake, I can hear the brakes at the back - sound like a scraping sound. Is this normal? Can't hear it when I'm driving normally.

....Probably just the pads clearing the disc surface if it's been wet when last used. I assume it disappears after your first use of the brakes.

There was a bit of rust on the discs but they're pretty much gone now.
I only hear it in the mornings when I'm leaving for work. The roads are quiet, the exit to the road is narrow so I have the windows down and radio off and I can hear it. Otherwise can't hear it but will keep an ear out for when I return home. Once I've got the scratch sorted, that is.

I get this with my dsg when letting of the gas i just put it down to the stock dv cos they still dump off just not as loud as the as the aftermarket one's.

Turbo?

Dunno - I can hear the turbo kicking in when I hit above 2000rpm. But it's not the same sound, though it could well be the turbo.
