Title: Please help... Im going nuts with wiring.
Post by: Rmachines on 22 August 2008, 10:04
Right, before i get angry and smash it up i think i had better ask.

First of all.  If i unplug everything from the back of the fuse box on a MK3 will i ever know what goes where again? or is each plug diffrent?

And HOW THE HELL DO THEY COME OUT????   I push the tab in on the plug and it lifts at one side, but the other side will NOT unplug from the fusee box, and there is no tab. usualy it just pulls but i really dont want to break it.

The whole loom is coming out of the car to go in another one.

Cheers.

yeah each plug will only go into the correct socket, 2ndly you also have to release the locking bar that runs  down the middle of the fusebox between all the plugs.  Look at 1 end of the fb and you'll notice a tab thing, grab that and pull :)

Right im gunna crack on with it today! i will let you know how it goes.

Oh and another wiring question... How do i get it through the bulk head?   Does the plugs in the fuse box end all fit through the hole?   If so how do i get access to the hole?   Remove the brake servo?

Cheers.

on a mk2 yeah you have to pull the brake servo forward to get to the bungs, assume its same on a MK3.  I didnt have to unbolt any of the brake lines either, just very carefully pull it forward.
