Title: Tyres
Post by: bobbarley on 21 August 2008, 20:12
What are the general rules of thumb for tyres, and also the laws?

Do you have to change two tyres at a time, e.g. both front ones, or can you technically just replace one?  Or is it more just the done thing to replace both to keep them even?

Also, does it matter if the front tyres are different from the back tyres?

as long as the tyres are same size, width and aspect ratio it dont matter which ones you change and what make you choose.

My car has 4 different makes of tyres atm lol will get round to all the same eventually lol

for safety you should always replace in pairs so that tread is even on both sides

its not necessary to run the same tyres front and back but it will help things as you'll have the same feedback and grip from all four corners which is useful when 'pushing on'
