So where else (VW-related) do you guys hang out?

Any forums/sites you'd recommend for someone who's just bought an Edition 30 (so ideally mkv gti-related places like this one)?

What about forums for modding, like TA (http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/)?

Although I'm not on the homepage yet, I'm a Staff member and Moderator on www.bialimotorsport.com

It's still early days and we are staying away from specialising in separate car brands. We have the support of some of the major players in the motorsport industry but haven't made their identities public yet - We're still developing the site.

It won't take me away from here as I think that this forum is by far the best for the GTI. :cool:

www.tyresmoke.net (ditto)
www.clubgti.com (although not much Mk 5 content on there and seems to be dominated by Mk 2's)
www.r32oc.com (I used to have an R32 and still pop back there occasionally)

For Mk 5 specific info I'd say uk-mkvs is the best (as well as golfgti.co.uk of course!).

Then I go for the usual

Alan quick change your numberplate in your sig.. vw's are GTI's.. only naff cars like rovers use a lowercase i for GTi :lipsrsealed:

And unless you go to american sites.. this one right here seems to be the most active for the MK5 GTI.

....GOLFMKV is a weird site - Most of the posters there are crazy and have no feeling for the 30 year tradition of the GTI. It's Stage3 before the engine is run in!! And some utterly horrible "cosmetic" mods :sick: Very poor moderation as well - Some people get very nasty with each other. Not my scene though I sometimes post there.

I am with r/r & hurdy the golfmkv site is a wee world i sometimes venture into but mainly leave them too it.Some of them get a bit psycho and go on smear campaigns, vendettas and the like.Ukmkivs used to be very good but in recent times its gone right downhill which is a shame.

The Octavia II section of Briskoda.net will have quite a lot of info that's applicable to the Golf 5.  You'll generally find me lurking around there if you have a question.

SCN is another useful resource for info but they tend to be a bit funny at times over there.
