Hi,
Local dealer called me up 2 weeks ago and said they needed to do a recal. They swapped the ECU and fuel pressure sensor over.
Has anyone had this experience? Mines an 06 DSG.
-
Yea had mine done yesterday, also had the headlamp level sensor replaced under warranty after i asked them to have a look at the headlamp levels cause i couldn't see more than 10m in front of me at night!

Fuel pump is a common thing on 06 models as for swapping the ECU - are you sure it wasnt just an update?

yeah i had the fuel pump one done on my service last week and had an ECU update a little before that - no replacement ecu though :undecided:

I had the fuel pressure sensor replaced and an ECU update
-
....Has anyone got the reference # for the fuel pressure sensor replacement issue - A good VW dealer will have entered it on your paperwork.
Also, the last ECU update was 24K6 or are you reporting a more recent one?
-
If he's just had the pump swapped I am guessing its the same update (24K6) - both relatively old to be honest.
I dont think they class the pump as a recall even, some dealer will only swap if you throw up the right code.
-
....We discussed this fuel pressure sensor recall in some detail in another thread and IIRC it's not a big deal. My VW dealer mechanic explained why I didn't need the swap but I think I suffer from short term memory loss - I remember that it made sense at the time.

My invoice shows 'carried out 24m5 recall'

....Great!! Exactly what I need to check with my VW guy again. Seeing him on Friday when I steal their new Scirocco for a bit.
Thanks mb

Seems someone in Oz was kind enough to post their letter from VW. Not sure what cars are affected, from my searching it appears on 06 cars in a certain vin range, if anyone can get more information I am sure it would be useful.

....The other letter we saw was from VW America. Nothing happening from VW UK so far.
