removing (angle grinder) most of the framework, bonnet pins in front. anyone done this? don't want it to flex too much but then i suppose fibreglass ones would be even flexier.

ie all the inside framework, keeping the outside square.

or more hassle than its worth?
-
i wouldnt bother personally.
imo go straight to fibreglass and bonnet pins using the rear hinges
-
Or go for the 'glass bonnet and use 4 pins to secure and do away with the hinges....one pin at each corner
-
Although 'ring marshals have been turning people with bonnet pins away - not good for catching bikers on apparently, so maybe just leave it as is for the moment.

im thinking of getting some of these, they do lockable ones as well. these should be ok for the ring?
-
They might be OK.
They might not.
It depends on the mood of the marshals on the day.
Put some German plates on and that should ensure you're kept off the track for the duration, keeping your car in one piece and your pride intact.
(and clear for slow buses like mine)
