Title: bonnet lightening
Post by: sharpie on 19 August 2008, 11:05
removing (angle grinder) most of the framework, bonnet pins in front. anyone done this? don't want it to flex too much but then i suppose fibreglass ones would be even flexier.

ie all the inside framework, keeping the outside square.

Or go for the 'glass bonnet and use 4 pins to secure and do away with the hinges....one pin at each corner

Although 'ring marshals have been turning people with bonnet pins away - not good for catching bikers on apparently, so maybe just leave it as is for the moment.

They might be OK.

They might not.

It depends on the mood of the marshals on the day.

Put some German plates on and that should ensure you're kept off the track for the duration, keeping your car in one piece and your pride intact.

(and clear for slow buses like mine)
