Title: Service time again- advice
Post by: 2007GTI on 18 August 2008, 15:37
History so far:

Was on long life, but after 1 year old/6000 miles had it turned to time and distance by a dealer and had a oil and filter service.

Its now 2 years old, covered 12,000 miles.
Just phoned supplying dealer who incidentally didnt do the last service, and they told me that the other dealer shouldn't of changed it!!!  Once I explained that I had only done 6000 miles, he backed down.

Anyway he is saying my next service of oil, filter, pollen filter, plugs etc, will be £240!!!

Your thoughts ladies and gentleman....

for annual service, that sounds reasonable. £200 approx these days is really the going rate tbh.

Been quoted £199 inc VAT and BFS is an extra £65 inc VAT.

I'm going to supply my own oil (Castrol Edge) as at the last service semi-synthetic Castrol was used

Lubrication service I got quoted £150 and £120 from main dealers - the more expensive agreed to price match without much persuasion ... always worth calling another dealer and see if cheaper - you dont ask you dont get.
