Very similar to mine a few weeks ago - Its a respray Im affraid
-
Gutted for you Tony
They should be strung up by the genitals.
Some smart repairers may take this on, but agree with duzza it likely to be a respray.
-
Iv'e got a lump in my throat sh*t sorry for you dude, I was going to do a post tonight saying after 3000 miles and not even a stone chip consider the thread cancelled out of respect
-
Oh no - that's so sad.
Really feel for you Tony - when I read the title I thought it may have been your CS which would have hurt even more.
Did it happen outside your house while you were away?
-
low life scum
gutted for you
-
sum knobber did the same to my old car and words couldnt describe how i felt, sorry mate my heart goes out to you and unfortunately everyones right about it needing to be a respray.
-
Gutted for you
-
Im gutted when theres a tiny scratch...cant imagine how you feel. B4stards.
-
Gutted for you - scum of the earth B4stards

thanks for the empathy gents  seems like my paint man thinks he can do the job w/out a respray - he's doing the cs bumper 1st so i'll get the mrs to drive up in mkv at same time so he can confirm. here's his details if anyone else needs work doing. he's done a few friend's cars and comes highly recommended

Sorry to hear about this mate. Before you rush down the respray route - get both a professional bodyshop and a professional detailer/paint correction report for the work. You may find that if the scratch is not right through both the paint and lacquer, that some cosmetic repair may be possible. I've seen some very good key repairs done on Porsches with (very) fine sanding and then machine polishing but their paint seems to be significantly thicker than VW's. Either way, you will get the car back to pristine condition
Feckin tw@ts
Edit - Just seen your update post fella. Good luck with the paintless repair.

Someone did the boot on my R32 the other week and I had only had the car 2 weeks! 2 weeks prior to that someone did a hit and run on our Touran in Tesco car park! cost me £400 out of my pocket to have both cars sprayed! I am still gutted!
-
Car Parks are the devil along with kerbs. I work at a supermarket and always park mine in a parent and child spot or disabled as im sick and tired of people swinging their doors open into my car (old car) so the new one is dent free at this moment in time.
I dont like to deprive parents of these parking spaces, but when my car is parked there for upto 10 hours per day it just has to be done.

SCUM-BAGS!!!! No other word for it! You just don't touch another mans metal!! Flesh?? Maybe, it goes on............... but not the fookin car!!!!!
Without wanting to be negative, can't see how that will be repaired without painting as it looks as though it's torn straight through the laquer and paint
Good luck with it fella, feel for you!
-
al says he can blend scratch in .... we'll see
-
Really feel for you  hope you can get it blended.
This happened to my last MKV GTTDI and I really was F***ing pee'd off.
-
Total cnuts tony. It reminds me of that scene in Pulp Fiction where John Travolta says he would actually let somone key his car just so he could catch them doing it.
-
twitS!!
My diamond black R32 was done TWICE!! Full side respray i,m afraid. Luckily my mate is a paint sprayer so it was a "cash in hand job"
Seriously it makes you feel so mad  I couldnt sleep for a few nites thinking it would happen again, and being parnoid.
Hope they burn in hell, and IF one day should they get a nice car someone does it to them TWICE.
-
I know the feeling, this is what some dickhead did to my MK4 last year. Bunch of wayne kerrs these people :(

some people are just jealous mate... seems the norm in london - im always worried about my car! lol
-
Really sorry to hear about this Tony.
I have nightmares about this happening, just don't understand the mentalities of some people, and the joy they get out of doing such a thing. Presuming you did nothing to anger someone, I have no idea what motivates people to do this.
Hope you get it sorted out ok.
-
Mate am truly gutted.
Keying and scratches from driving are the two things I worry about when I take the car out of the garage for the day. I have to park in a multistorey carpark and would rather bugger up the clutch by driving in 1st gear with the clutch dipped so I can drive slowly enough to very carefully negotiate the carpark.
-
mrs got a quote from stealer today-£1150
-
Little scummy fu#kers its jealousy mate thats what it boils down to. The little tramps aint got no job and would never have a nice motor and even if they did it would proberly be stolen. Rusty bread knifes should be allowed to be used.
-
mrs got a quote from stealer today-£1150
£1150 fooking hell mate that aint cheap. Email me some pics mate cos my mates mate owns a spray job can get him to get a quote for you might be cheaper. He had his S3 done by them when his missus had a smack in it done a blinding job.

 thanks for kind offer but i'll get insurance to cover the cost, excess of £350 to pay and vw liase directly with insurer

it makes you wonder why these people do it,i never did it when i was younger!! someone had been all round mine with a key and booted the front wings in when i bought it,although, having said that,i did get it at a bargain price for this reason.i feel sorry for you though mate.
-
I'd be up on an assault charge if I saw anyone doing that to a car, not just mine, any car.
-
I dont like to deprive parents of these parking spaces, but when my car is parked there for upto 10 hours per day it just has to be done.
Well no, not really. Can't agree with you on that one mate, sorry.

If they need so much space to park, then some of these "parent and baby" shoppers shouldn't buy such unnecessarily large cars for their small families, should they  In fact it's probably these same people who vandalise other peoples cars which causes these spaces to be used like they are.
Makes you wonder how parents coped before these special parking bays were introduced

car back from oem bodyshop :) took just under 10 days . pretty good job all in all. While at dealer's i got them to service car [it's a year old in december] and change interval from long life to annual . Anyway , here are some pics

Sorry to hear about your car mate, really does suck!
I find the parent and child spaces excellent, especially with a screaming, tired child. They are safer and easier for parents. I hate it when people park in these spaces and often tell them to park in the correct bay. Same goes with disabled spaces, that irritates the sh1t out of me. I have a disabled family member and this is a problem if we can't get parked because some fu3kwit parked there! Although I would never key a car myself, I can see why frustrated people do, and in a way I can't really blame them.
-
Lovely paint job. ... and bring back the stocks and flogging for the w8nkers who scratched it.
-
Just caught up with this.. Sorry to hear about the scratch Tonyh!!! Cant believe people do stuff like this... its so common but no one has ever known or does know someone whos done it??
Good to see its been sorted and looks as good as new!
-
Oh for DUCKs sake !
These scum need to be caught , its deeply upsetting when it happens !
glad you got it all sorted, looks like new again Tony !
-
When i saw the title my first thought was oh no. The poor ferrari! then i noticed that it had not been moved :). On a serious note though thats a fantastic repair and the fools that did it should be hit by smart cars whilst crossing the street and die a pitiful death. Mike
-
Great repair job!
As mentioned before, at least it wasn't the Rari, but it is not acceptable on anyones car - whatever make/model.
The CS tucked up for the Winter yet Tony? Or do you use her throughout the Winter in between road salting periods?
-
Know how you feel mate, had my GTI keyed from wing to boot. I know who did it, but can't prove it. No use doing anything to the idiot/weirdo, as he has no job, girlfriend, friends, house and a owns a crap car. Just really frustrating.
Anyway, luckily the scratch was only in the laquer. Got a friend to buff it out with very fine cutting paste, then apply coats of wax. Got away with it this time, but it scares the sh*t out of ya!

WHAT ?????? You can see why frustrated people key cars - and can't blame them ??? What are you talking about. People who key cars should have a hand cut off.

I have had my previous vehicle keyed and this was for no reason (parked on the road minding it's own business). What I am saying is that the type of people who feel they can park their car anywhere tend to be arrogant w4nkers that feel they have the right to do as they please, and we have all seen them (tend to drive BMW's and Audi's). These type of people deserve it, if we all treated everyone the same, no problem. As I said, I personally would never do it but you can imagine a person struggling to park as they are having difficulties doing it......................................

As said mine is parked in a supermarket car park for 10 hours on each shift I work, can you imagine how many different cars are parked next to it in 10 hours?
Some people struggle to get out of their cars, some dont give a fu<k, kids flying doors open and people with bangers flinging doors open..really is a nightmare especially with a an expensive motor. Thats the only reason I use these spots as if a kid/parent happens to fling their door open it wont be my car used as a stopper.
If someone did key a car for being parked in a particular space then they are just as much of a kunt as the person who keyed Tony's.
-
On the odd occasion where I have been forced to park in a normal bay it is a nightmare trying to put a kid in with limited room to open the door, so what I do I park in the furthest corner away from cars so that I don't cause damage. However, this obviously does not work for people without legs.............................................
But I do see your point.

Martz we are all entitled to our own opinion and you are no different, but in my opinion just because someone acts arrogant and is probably a w4nker like you say does not mean they deserve to have their cars keyed   you should not be so quick to judge and imo your attitude is far worse than theirs.
you say your car was keyed for no reason how do you know this maybe someone didnt like the look of you.

Only one problem with parking away from other cars tends to leave the car on its own when the store closes, we usually stay back an hour to clean or whatever and the teens that hang out at Macdonalds tend to think its a toy to play with and stack cones/rubbish/anything available to them on the cars, also leaning over it, stealing badges...just cant win.
Always some jeb-end ragging there corsa/clio/saxo about aswel, uncontrolably handbraking and skidding so I fear they are going to hit it and simply drive away.
If I had a kid then I would probably view this from a different angle but from my point of view it has to be done and will remain to be done until I find a new job and no longer have to work at this shocking place, but thats a whole different story
Oh yeah and it looks like a top job Tony

True topcat. Maybe what I am saying came out wrong, if they act in such away they are more likely to have it done. As for me, I am sure their are people out there that have issues and that's why they carry out such acts - my ASBO friend with an issue cost me a full side to be sprayed (but luckily I give a lot of work to this bodyshop through my job, so could have been far worse). I am certain that I am far from arrogant, in fact more chilled than anything, hate road rage can't be arsed if someone cuts me up, last time I accidently cut someone up in my Rallye he wanted to kill me! Whats all that about?????

If it is late hours you should park it close to the store as possible. Seeing cars parked in bays for disabled and kid spaces never bothers me that time of night.
Nice cars above too.

Lovely cars! How do you find the 430Scud in comparison to the 360CS?

Lovely cars! How do you find the 430Scud in comparison to the 360CS?
hi m8, here's my impressions from a little while ago-
"430 scud raises ferrari's game massively.... i havent driven regular 430 but can already see that that the e-diff is massive difference between 360 and 430 driving position's spot on , seats are very comfy tho only adjust like cs seats- back/fwd and there's a wheel on side for the back bucket. overall the 430 is much easier to drive at low speed compared to cs , steerings a bit light then but beefs up nice when on the move. Scud's nowhere near as stiff as cs .with my limited knowledge of track based road cars, i would say the scud is a great compromise. that gunshot upshift is still ringing in my ears .....the car's really loud when you press on .today was snowy, wet and greasy and i had the cs in race once with tail wanting to snap out...the scud was in rain mode and is so sure footed it's incredible. 430 has a lot more torque lower down and picks up speed more urgently than cs . valves are open from about 3k rpm in any mode and sound is incredible- add in the superfast gearchange and the scud is untouchable. changes are literally as quick as you can flick the paddle shift
one thing i was sure on was that scud would not sound as good as cs -WRONG
upshift's past 3k rpm sound like a gunshot and the change up lights on cf steering wheel are a nice touch. the car has a very deep tone , much deeper than cs and on hard acceleration, it;'s like a sonic sound wave just past your car . one gripe is that downshifts are pretty tame tho i didnt use race mode so that might change things.
scud's interior is very well made and guys, i wouldnt spec alcantara after seeing the tech fabric today. this car had tech interior with some alcan inserts on dash, it works very well. cf wheel and paddles are a must imho.forget the fire extinguisher unless you're on track a lot ."
