Title: sensor on air filter box?

the sensor that plugs into the air filter box, does anyone know what its for and what problems might i get if the wires have snapped from sensor?

think its been fcuked for some time and havent had any problems, going throught a fair bit of petrol though >:(

any help would be great,

It tells the ECU what temp the air is and fuels the engin accordingly, I would have thought that's why you're using alot of petrol. A lot of people unplug this and put in a resistor (on Ebay they are sold as chips for about 3 quid!) it tells the ECU the air is quite hot and it lets more fuel through giving more power, can't do any good.

brains, maybe you're going through "a fair bit of petrol" 'cos your right foot's too heavy??
