Title: VAG-COM Linux
Post by: Martin2007 on 14 August 2008, 14:22
Hi

Has anyone got VAG-COM running under Linux. I've seen there's a link to a HOWTO guide on the ross-tech site noting how to get it running in WINE on Ubuntu. Just wondered if any of you guys on here had it running. Didn't really fancy getting XP installed on me laptop just for this, I haven't got a serial port on it anyway. Not sure whether or not it'd work in a virtual machine either. I suppose it would thinking about it...

Anyone tried?

had it running on WINE through an old debian distro, but it really isn't ideal.. partition and dual boot ftw :afro:

I reckon it'd run no probs as a VM, it'd just be a case of allocating the interface to the guest OS (Windows) and it should work. I might give it a go. There's no way I'm re-partitioning my laptop with Windows lol. How much are the cables? I searched for vagcom on ebay and it came up with a load of cables. Which one do I need?

I want VAGCOM but only have a Mac.

Can't be arsed to load windows onto it just for VAGCOM.
