Title: 1050 cc mk2
Post by: Britman on 12 August 2008, 22:16
Hi anyone had one off these, I know they existed earlier on in the mk2's production, used the polo engine. Never seen one or heard anything about them but know for a fact they were made.
Just curious if anyone knows anything about them or had one, as bet there so slow there dangerous, bet 0-60 is well over 20secs and non existed power and torque levels for a car of that size.

They did existed and not sure how many were made but it would be interesting to know how many were made.
I can't imagine why anyone would want a 1L unless they were old grannies

driven one of these little monsters,

they arn't quite the slowest things on the road,  accseloration in gear was quite good considering   but the gears felt short so 0-60 v poor  (no way could it get there in 2nd).  90 on the speedometer was top whack,   uphill not good.   probably not much different to a 1.6 NA desile in a golf.

but after a weekend in the garage it magically got lots faster
