Title: MK2 leather seats
Post by: wil0 on 11 August 2008, 22:11
ive got a 91 16v gti with a rainbow interior. while it is in really good nick, and is pretty clean, id prefer a leather interior. All the ones ive seen have been extortionately expensive. are there any sensible alternatives? i want to keep it looking as standard and fitting as possible.
any ideas?

what do you mean by extortionate? there are no inbetweens really, good cloth interiors go for the same money as bad leather.

On a side note I'd be interested in the rainbow interior if it's in good condition.  How's the drivers side bolster?

Well some full leather interiors on ebay are going for acouple of hundred quid. A tempting buy, but i wondered if there were any cheaper alternatives, say from an audi 80?
The drivers side bolster is a little bit worn, but not massively, the passender side is mint, theres a slight mark on the rear door card, but thats it.
