Title: What's wrong with my car???
Post by: Martin2007 on 11 August 2008, 21:18
Right, this has happened a couple of times since I've had my mk4.

It's like the engine is reving, but my foot isn't on the throttle and then some black smoke comes from the exhaust. And it's happened when I've nipped in the shop, come back out and it starts, but really struggleing and cuts out, again with black smoke.

Anyone any ideas to what this could be? It's going in VW on sat, just wondered if anyone might have experienced this or have any clue as to what the problem could be.

Cheers

Engine is AUM mate. I was thinking it was something to do with the fuel air mixture, would that be an effect of a dirty MAF or something. That sounds funny, I've got a dirty MAF. Haha.

As I said, it's going in VW on Saturday so they can give it the once over. I only had it on Friday, so I thought I'd have it proper checked over. Hope it's nothing serious though. It has only happened like 3 times in about 300 miles. Fingers crossed eh!

I better put the mods on hold now then. Grrr!!
