Hi guys and gals im Andy and im currently looking at buying a Mk4 Golf gti (1.8T) and i was just wondering if i could pick ur brains on a few questions.
I was wondering what are the engine differences between the 150bhp version and the 180bhp(obviously the power outputs) are they different turbos or is it just as simple as ecu programming?
As there are plenty of 150bp models for sale but i cant find many 180s around my area so if its just ecu i dont mind buying a 150 as i could get a re-map and blady blah
Anyway thanks for any help in advance guys

k thanks for the heads up guys,i will look forward to postin alot more once iv made my purchase, just not gona like it at first as from going from a 200bhp FTO to a 150bhp golf will make my right foot a little sad
But always loved the MK4s oh and not too mention the £1000 saving on the insurance!

well if he won't ask i'll have to tell him
expect an easy 50mpg + when not booting it and no less than 30mpg when absolutely hammering it :smug:
tend to average 45-50mpg
but as Matt said depending you can still achieve 30mpg + in a remapped 1.8T

Yeah if you drive carefully you can get 37 mpg tho avg is prob more like 33-35 mpg TBH
As for the derv 50 mpg and as fast as a 1.8T

i think the standard 150bhp golf will be on par with a 200bhp fto, coz my golf absoloutly wastes fto's without any effort, i have an aum with k03s, vvt, standard apart from remap making 205bhp
