Title: ISV? 'Ow much!
Post by: eightyeightmph on 11 August 2008, 14:59
So the GTi keeps working the revs itself & its becoming quite annoying!

The ideal will stay around 950 then randomly (when it's warm) it shoots up to 2000 RPM.

I've had the ISV off in the past & flushed it to no avail & figured I'd had enough & just replace it....

Stealership wants £250 for one!

So what are my option? Kells if you can get one on the cheap please let me know!

Are there aftermarket ones or other alternatives to the dealers??

If an ISV off a MK2 Digi fits an ABF  (fairly sure it does)  then I have one

just waiting on a call back from my contact at the dealer

snifferdog, they basically just pull off from the manifold, theirs also a rubber clip it slides off this, you will see what i mean, and finally just pull the pipe from the induction area, really easy

Yea, you need an allen key to remove the HT lead plastic trim then its just there beneath, the connections just pull/clip off but if you just undo the bracket holding it (same size allen key) that'd be great as it means the rubber grip holding it won't break!

Cheers mate!

The rubber grip on mine slides off without undoing the bracket, does on mine anyhow, i bought a new one of these recently as it happens (the rubber guide thing that holds it in place), cost 2 quid at the dealer..

Will keep you posted...
