MINE!!!!
Bought it used/approved for £20k, with 3k on the clock. Arm rest + ipod. convenience pack. Otherwise stock. Bottle opener was there.
Am loving the ED30 trim though and the heated seats!
Couldn't get one with Xenons/highline unless I bought new and because of time and money, couldn't wait.
Haven't opened her up yet but only had her for two hours. Just pootling along until I get used to the position etc.
Just wished it wasn't raining!
PS: There was another 5dr ED30 also in black there being services. V30 EDT
Anybodys?

Not long before you'll have a Milltek and a remap if you keep coming on here
-
v.nice mate, any mods planned e.g. ^^^^?

Nice one mate.. Do like them in black as a lad local to me has one and it looks
Did you have a standard GTI before it? Can't remember..
-
Conrats on the purchase. Looks like you found a good one
My suggestion for your first mod, lose the stealers sticker in the rear window.
-
Very nice!

Cheers guys but it's all the threads on here that helped with my purchase.

Yeah loved the black colour. But then I've always been a Knight Rider fan! Nah first VW mate. First car was a mk4 fezza. This is the second car.

Yeah but not yet. Wallet's taken a huge pounding - new car, renting flat, plus some other stuff means that my savings have dwindled down to £1k!
Defo thinking of remap, rear parking camera, ICE. Really want to get that red stripe to light up!
My suggestion for your first mod, lose the stealers sticker in the rear window.
Agreed - parked the fezza behind it and noticed how crap it looked.

Couldn't see a code button to code it.
Still gotta get into the best driving position. Having too many options makes it confusing. In the fezza it was move seat forward/back and adjust backrest. Here it's move seat, adjust back rest, adjust height and adjust wheel!
Funny thing about setting the seat height was when I looked at the lever, I thought Hey...where's the GTi logo gone? ROFL That and the footrest are also on my want list.
Have only taken the car round the city and been pretty namby-pamby about the driving because I'm still not used to it. Will definitely open her up tomorrow on the motorway.

Yeah defo thought about it. Need to check work rota on Monday to make sure I'm free.

Lol. I joined here back in June (before the forum got wiped over July). Within two weeks, I was already thinking about Carbonio intakes, Miltech exhaust and revo/apr remaps. All that before I'd even laid eyes on a GTi, let alone test drive one!
EDIT: I took the parents out for a spin in the car. My mother couldn't get out of the back. I immediately knew it was because of the childproof locks but couldn't see a switch for it! Later found out about it after flicking through the manual.

How do you type a wolf-whistle?
I lurv the GTi/Ed30 in black
Nice motor...
-
Very nice
Clearly chose the best colour...then again I would be biased.
While im here anyone know what the 'Set' button does?
-
I believe the set button is to 'set' the tyre pressure so if it deviates from that value you're given a warning to let you know your tyres are going flat!
-
Yeah thought the set button was a bit silly.
Anyway I'm missing buttons from the esp/set buttons - there's two other blank buttons. What should be there if the appropriate feature was fitted?
Drove the car down the motorway this weekend. Was a fantastic drive. Normally I get bored after one hour but I loved driving this beast so much I could have driven back up again!
Went on a private bit of road, managed to hit 140 and boy was that flippin scary! But around that kinda speed, the car didn't seem to hold too well to the road, a little jittery. Wasn't sure if it's meant to be like that when going round gentle curves.
PS when on the motorway, a car would drive alongside for a while. I was too busy watching the road and saw them outta the corner of my eye. How come, when the road was so clear, did they stay so close? There was an Audi a5, an Audi TT and a Seat (dunno model), a BMW 7-series and a Honda Civic (std, not type R). Did they wanna race? Or were they just perving at the car? And if it's a race, how do I say "no"? wasn't about to blast the car when I'd been driving it for a max of three hours.

Gentle curve's at 140mph your going to be seeing angel's pulling up along side you if you carry on doing that. :undecided:
-
I'm amazed by these 'private' roads people keep finding to do these speed trials.
-
looks tidy and in best colour! :)
good work good work.lol
deffo get rid of the stickers.lol
i have yet to get rid of my tax disc holder.lol :P

....When going over about 130 mph (GPS not inaccurate speedo), the GTI feels a lot lighter and you have to realise that aerodynamically the Golf hatchback is at its 'comfort limit'. But she'll drive for hours literally at 125 mph - I've done it many times on the German unrestricted sections of autobahn and averaged 90 mph all day!
I would remap your brain and do some performance car driving courses before high speed testing on public roads.
-

Im dying to get this sticker off, any tips on the best and cleanest way to get it off???
-
If it's just the standard VW Stealer one then it should peel off fine without any sticky mess remaining.
Otherwise a bit of the sticky stuff remover DIY shops sell should do the trick.
-
tbh I have hit the big 1 five 0 before and she fet as steady as a rock! It was 1 four 0 before my passenger decided to look over and see what all the noise was about! Funny when he did tho

ive noticed this aswell, quite often have cars pull up behind my driver rear quarter and stay there or creep slowely before going on. Im sure its having a good eyeful of the car. She certainly looks good in motion.

I'd have to agree there Red, mine felt "light" on the road at GPS 130mph last euro trip. Totally different to the S4 which "squatted down" at anything over 120+.
By the way, 155mph is all the S4 is meant to do as its restricted....YEAH RIGHT! I'll have to see if I can find my GPs photo to the contrary....
My GTI is at least 10mph out at speeds over 120mph. You dont want to get caught at that speed on a UK road, looking at a lot of time off there bud.

So it should it wieghs about 3 tons
/joke
I thought it was well planted hitting 140.

....Mine is out 13% throughout. VW have said they would change it but cannot guarantee better than 10% inaccuracy, so I haven't bothered. I prefer the large digital speed readout of my GPS PogoAlert anyway and it switches to kmph too. It's also in my line of sight while driving.
