At last im getting 4 wheel alignment done at Midland VW. I have had some very hairy moments in the rain of late and it just feels remote in the dry.
Hopefully all should be good tomorrow!!

Tracking was 8mm out  On rails once again now
-
how much does jody charge for this?
-
£45 didn't think it was a bad price and only took about an hour

I need to get mine done... still... almost a year on
It was meant to be done months ago but the mechanic couldn't do it because the bolt was too tight even after penetrating oil and didn't have time for the penetrating oil to work properly (he's VERY busy).
I should have it done, it might help with the handling innit
-
i need mine doing badly especially as i have knackered front top mounts...

New top mounts make a whole universe of difference!
I'm constantly having to have my tracking done, it goes out at the drop of a hat
I paid a lot to have mine done at a vw dealership in sheff once, and it went out after 5 min and they didn't leave the steering wheel straight

Where about's is that?
All I need part from the tracking, is the bit of welding done and the cars spot on again. Well until I find something else :embarassed:

Kittie, once your tracking has been set, it shouldnt go out of adjustment, unless you hit a kerb or a deep pothole! I would say that you may have other suspension problems, if your getting uneven tyre wear, or short tyre life, you may need new shock absorbers, bushes, or ball joints, not necessarily all 3 at once though! another possibility is that the person doing the tracking doesn't actually know what there doing! thats more common than most people realise!

Yeah, i just had my tracking done, and its still not quite right. i dont trust tyre garages, but this kid seemed alright and gave me the printout afterwards and it all looks good. Im thinking of taking it somewhere that knows what they are doing... i think my shockers and springs are sh!t as they came with the car, and its lowered 40mm. im not impressed with the handling, as i had a mini before, and that seems to handle better. still i cant complain, it was free, and they owe me some more favors so il go back once ive got new springs and shocks... :D
