if the fault kept coming back then it could be a dodgy connection thats sorted itself out.

does it say which air bag is faulty?

another way is disconnect the battery for an hour and re-connect - that sometimes clears the fault

I generated an airbag fault ,which Ridg very kindly cleared for me last night, when I put in my new HU because I had to disconect it. Even putting it back in didnt clear it and had to be cleared via VAGCOM, it may have come loose or have a dogy connectiong which is causing it to going in and out of fault.

i have had the same fault come up on the clocks today after fitting a phone kit for a customer on their mk 5 bluemotion getting it reset tomorrow (hopefully)
its crazy how just unplugging a h/u can cause such a stupid problem

Its not unplugging the HU that does it, you have to disconnect the air bag to remove the front dash to remove the HU. It's disconnecting this that causes it to go into fault, simply plugging it back in does not clear it (which is stupid imo, probably so you have to go to VW to get them to spend 30 seconds clearing it and charge you £70).

Rhyso, you so wish you had MKV !
