wel basicly im weighing up 2 different golfs and not sure which would be the best to go for.
so ive seen a nice mk4 turbo at a good price but the only thing im not sure about is that it
has 90k on the clock, would that bother anyone?
ive also got my eye on a sweat mk2 20vt with everything done as should and im informed
the engine has only got 40k in it.
which would you go for???

If the mk2 is running OE management then you can check the mileage with vag com but be weary of trusting what people say about mileage.
Mk4 1.8t's as a rule need new turbo's at about 120,000 miles but thats just a reason to upgrade to a KO3s ;)
-
There will be less rust on a mk4

as for which to go for
depends what mk golf you prefere to be honest and if you wanna be a lil different or not

50/50 really mate, as a general rule its 120k but if there is no problem with it driving I would literally just wait for it to go

Just to make you feel better, my IV (2.0) has done over 125,000 & still runs great. Before i bought the car i made a thread about mileage but now i've owned it, i'd own another with the same mileage. As long as she's got her history, there's no reason why you shouldn't.

cheers guy's i think ive made my mind up n i love my mk2 soo much so i think im gonna buy the mk2 20vt. my friend has 1 and he only lets me rev it but it puts such a smile on my face just knowing how much power is under my foot (300bhp!!) its crazy

A smart and tidy MK2 with either a VR6 or 20vT is just porn imo.
