Title: RCD 510 With Soundpack
Post by: garethmk1 on 04 August 2008, 13:35
Dear All,

My car came with the above mentioned sound system upgrade.  I understand that there is an amplifier under the plastic cover under the passenger seat.  I'm a bit scared to start prising for a look, but anyone know if there is any level of adjustability on it or other outs for possibly a small subwoofer ?  If anyone has a picture of it I'd be very keen to see it.

Regards,

Gareth

I don't believe there is anything you can change/adjust directly on the amp.

Also if the RCD-510 is the same as the RNS-510 then it may not have any pre-outs either.

I have it and don't think there's anything to adjust , ps the cover slides forward, don't pull it up

Hey

I was under the impression the amplifier was under the drivers seat?

It is not recommended to connect even a small sub woofer to the VW amplifier as it is not powerful enough.

As far as I know there is nothing to adjust either.

Interesting...

Ours has the amplifier on the drivers side and the passenger side has a huge stowage compartment.

Not to mention our GTi's come standard with the soundpack. In fact its not even an option. You just get it much like you get winter pack etc as standard too.

Opt for Dynaudio it's far better than Bose,My missus has the Dynaudio option in her Eos and in the A4 cab before that she had Bose.....The Dynaudio is far superior in sound quality.
