Title: Doesn't feel right?!
Post by: Ady TDI on 04 August 2008, 11:19
Went out in the 150 on saturday and it never seemed to have much power, when i first bought the car the boost would kick in at 2000rpm, but on saturday i never noticed any boost, i just checked the intercooler hose and that is fine, what else could cause this?

Thanks

Edit - If anyone is around London Middx that can run Vag for faults i will be greatful and supply beer tokens

split pipes, MAF, blocked air filter / fuel filter as a starting point

whats it like through the rest of the rev range? do you notice lots of black smoke out of the back?

Cheers Rhyso, maybe if i can get the car running right i'll keep the 150

No black smoke, no smoke unless i rev it hard on idle then it's just white, 2nd and third gear seem to have a bit more poke at the 2000rpm

hmm white smoke isn't usually a good sign!

what gear does it seem to lack power??

1st gear seems to be no power even after the 2000 revs, then once it's in 2nd & 3rd at 2000 seems to pick up.

Just been looking at the faults the Vag picked up when i had miles to empty done, this was the post:

So it's either the boost hose, or MAF?

i take it you've replaced the Coolant Temp sensor already then?

unplug the MAF and take it for a quick spin - if its better than the MAF is knackered

Haven't replaced the temp sensor yet :embarassed: i unplugged the MAF (if it's the switch on the air filter?) and it was worse to drive

well if you've already tested your MAF and it ran worse what does that leave you with
