Had my car detailed recently Ritch. If you can afford it i would pay to get it done by the pro's first off, and learn everything from them as they do it. ther are so many good product's to choose from. there is also a detailing section on here and they will be more than happy to help. Here's a couple of pics of mine.

Is that a portacable? How much and where from?

Lovely looking car.

Q: When you use tyre dressing, which parts of the tyre should it be applied to? Just the outside wall? Or the tread as well?

you must completly cover the whole tyre including the inner wall.

Topcat thanks for posting those pics back up, fully enjoyed seeing it step by step. That CW looks great, I bet the paints still as smooth as silk?

The machine that guys using looks like a friends Makita Rotary buffer, not for the novice to use! It can burn the paint if you arent areful, stick with a G220 or PC7424.

Stealthwolf, I use Zymol Tyre preserve, its not cheap but it really helps the tyres retain their natural oils unlike some products which strip them out. Just apply it all over the outer sidewall to the tread. You dont want it on the tread as it could make the tyre slippy and affect your braking

It lasts for ages, and you dont need to use very much, 3 squirts of it does one tyre. Its great all all exterior plastics as well, makes them go back to look like new.

I use Swissvax products on mine and am hugely impressed with the results. The Zuffenhausen wax is better than a lot of other waxes I've tried in the past.

Think that will be my next wax purchase - I've heard nothing but great things about it!
