Title: head gasket (time to change) ?

Nearly all the cars I have seen for sale/posted have just had or need the head gasket done.

I thought the main reason the head has to be done, if the car has been ragged  & it's blown the head???

Iv now just reached 160k on my engine, it sill pull strong & can still whip an 8v digi.  Iv never needed the head doing.

I am just lucky with my motor, or should the head be done every so many miles on a GTI  ???

NO.

Do not touch it if it runs alright.
You can always get a compression test done to see how your engine is performing.
