I've got a 1992 sportline. I've only had it bout 3 weeks.
I was under bonnet yesterday and I found this bolt in a pipe.

What and where should the pipe attach to after I remove the bolt?
Cheers for any help

mines blocked off too
but my engine is knackered....

hi mate just looked in the haynes manual and on their diagrams and pics there is no pipe coming out of that rubber boot to the throttle housing
however my haynes only covers up 1985 gti cabbys
so ithink it should be blocked off or i wondering if it goes to the
HOLD ON!
just looked in the supplement and it goes to the idling speed boost valve via various junctions and additional hoses
i think the boost valve increases idling when lights, heater, etc are on
im thinking that the boost valve was maybe superceded in the late model cabbys and therefore the pipe blocked off
sorry cant compare with mine as i have a 2l 16v

here you go, I've got a 92 Cab which is the same spec engine as yours - its should be blocked off, but not in that way.
Mine has a plastic stop where the green connector is on your with the additional piping!
Pic to help you see...

that hole is probably there as the boot is a later part that superceeded the early k-jet one, designed for digifant cabbies where it would be used for the ISV or breather system. if the later one is then fitted to a k-jet car the hole is not required and is blocked off. either that or its desiged for MK1s with a lambda!
