People always told me my car sounded awesome, and when someone said this is exactly how mine sounds (and looks BTW), I was well chuffed

I set my self up for a big fall this weekend. Iv'e been looking at some interior mods a new gaiter stitching re done and a few other bit's went to get a quote on saturday warned her as i went out the door that it may cost up to £300. Total cost for the mod's came to 6 to 700  so put it on the back burner.
Sitting there watching the grand prix today in she walk's with £300 pound's of new clothe's

My new fuel pump came yesterday and it is getting fitted tonight. I am lucky she has not asked me how much that was yet
-
I think the Milltek will defiantly have to be next for me now.
djhorace, is this the non-res full turbo back version?

Yep. Non res. The good thing about it is that it is not loud inside the car
-
ive heard red robins 4 pot non res milltek, and can confirm its not much louder inside the cabin then a standard one.
-
Cheers Djhorace.
I am undecided on the res or non-res version at the moment. Speaking to APS in Brackley they said I might find the non-res with the sport cat and downpipe a bit too much given the amount a miles I do a month (3500 mostly motorway) I am looking to start with just the cat back first then possibly add the downpipe later.
Also is £450 for the Cat Back Non-Res and £520 the Res a good fitted price?

Robin's sounds a hell of a lot nicer than the one in that video though

Not sure bud. My car was used by Milltek to develop the system for the MK2 Leon Cupra, so mine was quite a bit less than the figures you quoted
-
totally agree mew, its his fault i wanted a milltek!!

£450 was the price i was gonna pay from jkm steveP, which was free fitting inclusive. you wont get much more discount to be honest.
-
i got non res cat back on my ed 30 and think it sounds just right :smiley:try roadrunner in notts for a price , they match or beat most prices , if you want it fitting jbs in chesterfield did me a great deal with a custom code remap !! and as always top service

Cheer phil
umm premium bonds have been quite kind to me this month so how I get this one pass SWMBO?
-
Allen your just doing this so I buy one.

i've had my resonated full turbo back milltek fitted now for a few weeks, rather pleased with it so far noise is loud enough, still turns heads when you throttle it in 1st and 2nd, so non-res i imagine is probably less subtle, i love the burble you get when you plant for foot on it then let off straight away, addictive...
make sure you go for ed30 ones as they come with special pipes for them like these ..

Might be worth asking for a price just for fitting if you provide the system:

Mew, thats for a standard GTi and not the ed30, as it has a bigger bore size over standard GTi., Been interesting if you find one for ed30, as they seem abit cheaper.May be enough that i could convince wife'e over!
-
Yep I defiantly want the ED30 version with the twin 80mm pipes .
-
i fitted mine yesterday and it sounds  and looks so much better

How difficult was it to fit your?
Did you have access to a ramp/lift or just axel stands?

axle stands and my big 3tonne trolley jack and i jacked it up high and had all 4 wheels in the air and just slid under and did it all but i am pretty handy with the spanners and have done a few exhausts on a few of my cars in the past, its a tight fit and if you dont mind getting your hands dirty and have plenty of wd40 handy then do it

Cheers Mat.
From a quick search it seams to save around £50 on a supplied only basis.
Anyone know of any cheaper suppliers out there?
-
i do know awesome are doing free fitting on milltek but i wanted to do mine myself and i saved 25% on mine at there show last weekend
-
Thats an idea, I might wait and see if anything is on offer at either VW Festival or E38.
Thanks for your help.
