Come on Gulf, you know us lot are a load of suckers when it comes to your metal mastification!!
-
A very good friend of mine at BIALI Motorsport works in carbonfibre..............
-
I quite like it...would also like it if it was possible to get a brushed aluminium surround from somewhere for the sat nav, a/c controls and the upper section too.
Mine was clumsily painted by a previous owner  easy enough to get a stock black and replace that though, however aluminium would be good too.

-
Yeah, an alu sat nav surround would be fantastic. I imagine it would be tricky to fabricate due to it being curved.
-
Yep and the fact it has to have J hooks on the back to site it properly..unless an overlay on the original was possible.
Someone once hinted at chrome/ alu being an option on the new passat but when I looked I couldnt find it....may just have been wishful thinking on their part.

been trying to source one in the Uk without success, the one on the awsome web site is flat not as good imo, they cox one is jap based . I cant speak der lingo know what i mean kidda innit,

This arrived from Awsome this morning but doesn't fit properly, going to have to sand various area's to make it fit over the alu look frame's round the dials. fitting is easy just some double side'd, so easy to return to stock if not impressed.

I could do that, stick GTI istead of cox..no worries.
-
I,d want to do it out of 0.9,stick GTI whever you wanted it and Topcat, which bits you sanding down to fit???..

Now you reply we sent out an SOS to you the other day. Ive also figered out how to take my seat inserts out of the top of my seats and ive ordered one from VW when it comes i was going to see if you could make some alu one's

When it sit's inproperly i'm presuming that it is supposedl'y sits in flush with the alu look surround's. It is tight in acouple of places so i think iv'e got to sand the inner edg'es of the rev counter side
-
i blinged my rover in a similar way, was brushed stainless steel and didnt cause any reflective problems
be careful of the double sided adhesive, the cockpit will get very hot and no doubt make the glue come unstuck, i had this happen to me
cost about £20 off ebay

Be careful when reworking, make sure you follow the grain which would become a pain when sanding the top of the arc.I,d just reduce the rad until it fits perfect. What was wrong with the inserts for you to remove them and wot you ordered from VW??
-
sorry for the delay my connection just went down.

OK i'm confusing things here i have recaro seats and for a while now have been trying to change these insert's for some alu one's see below. could not figure out how to take them out but i have ordered a spare one and this will show me how it connect's to the back clasp and also i then can show you it and see if you can make them for me out of alluminum

-
Ahaaaa.. I remember now.
-
Do you think you can make them i have been working on this mod for ages and must get it done somehow :lipsrsealed:
-
Is it the full handle,if so it needs developing flat with comp for bends, then folding. Can be done I reckon but I need the unit removing from the seat for accurate measurement.I reckon thats gonna be a right ball ache.
