Title: Fitting Big Bumpers to MK2
Post by: Greig on 29 April 2004, 16:47
when fitting Big Bumpers to a MK2 do you need new wiring looms or can u just use the originals from the small bumpers???
most companies that supply big bumpers give u wiring looms but GSF car parts dont have them so i need to know before ordering.

the only extra wiring you will require is for front fog lamps (if you buy them), this should plug into the factory loom some where i think, youll also need brackets to hold foglamps in place so the sit correctly behind the bumper(you should get these if you buy lamps), as for the indicators etc the original small bumper wiring should be ok

(dont talk to me about fog lamps!!!! lol)

you will need to extend the wires to the indicators cos they arent long enough, you will also need 90 spec indicator lenses

try GPC before buying the kit. you could probably get a deal or something and are genuine parts...

I'd strongly advise buying genuine from GPC. A LOT better fit than the aftermarket kits.

on this subject check out this month's Revs mag at that 5dr mk2. the fit on his bumpers front and back is awfull! That RS4 front bumper doesn't fit anywhere near as good as the old big bumpers we run. Same really.
