Fitted my new hot tuning coilovers and they're being a paint in the ass! there making some weired grinding/squeeking noise everytime i go over a bump, and its just the rears! there not rubbing the arches, everything is tight, and iv oiled them, which helped a bit. Anyone had this problem before?

Did you reassemble the rear tops mounts in the right way? I screwed this up on a MKII once and it made some minging noises!

yeah im pretty sure i have cos they wouldnt sit flush any other way. i replaced the topmounts, could it be the buttom mounts( which are old ones) cheers, benny

think its best described as a creeking noise, its doing my head in

try this
jack the car up or even better take of the wheels which is recommended and spray a load and i mean a load of wd40 this solved my problems
Did you change the top mounts?
-
It is not catching the exhaust is it, mine did and was a hell of a row.
-
it could also be them running too low and the springs moving about when you hit the bump...mine did this until i raised it a bit...the spring should be slightly compressed and not rattle about when its jacked up
oh yeah on full lock mine is grinding somewhere...I'm hoping the tracking will sort that as I had all the bushes sorted and the wheels not straight any more!!

ive had a new set of topmounts and this is my second set of coilovers and mine creak like crazzy i think its the metal adjuster rubbing against the spring

i replaced all the mounts and bearings and covered in wd40. no problems so far. Double check that you havent got the new mounts/old mounts mixed up and that the bottom and top mounts on the rears are the right way round, etc. Would be worth double checking it all, just to be sure.
