Title: Creaking from underneath car when cold
Post by: mybikeisace on 27 May 2008, 21:34
This has got progresively worse over the last month of so.

Whenever setting off from cold their is a bad creaking noise from sort of bellow the gearbox. Happens most when pulling away/cornering at slow speeds or gowing over a speed bump.

Seems to last about 10/15 mins at then prety much goes away. I was thinking anti roll bar brushes but they seem to be more further forward than where its coming from.

Also sometimes when starting a sort of "crunch" comes from the gearbox.

Anyone any idears what it could be?

i have the creaking noise to. Got told it was just power steering noises, which i dont believe. just like you it is only apparent at very low speed and turning. was assured it was nothing to worry about but i'd be intrested in anyones opinions

the creak is likely to be a heat shield...my rear one rattles/creaks when its cold and then silent the rest of the time
