Theres more than one choice. What ratio are you looking for?

a mate wants to put one on his 1.8t as the bearings have gone in his 5 speed box so he wants to put a six speed in so whichever one will be best

For an AUQ 6 speed box (Anni + normal 1.8 T GTi's from cir. 2003 on),  I think you also need driveshafts, flywheel/clutch, starter motor and power steering pipe, IIRC.  :undecided:

Good luck! I searched for a very long time to find one when mine exploded. Most breakers think they have one until they realise it's from a TT and 4 wheel drive!

I think Ivor is right on the extra parts as well as I even thought of going back to a 5 speed for a cheap fix (bodge-artist) but it wasn't that simple.

Buy a new one like I did in the end, bargain.

i think the 5 speed is better than the 6, the 6 is good for motorways but i dont think it uses the power in the right way.... if you know what i mean  :undecided:

i find the first 2 gears are far too close together - 3rd to 6th are nicely spaced though

I think the diseasal 6 speed has different ratios to the AUQ box though, Rhyso??

always been under the impression they share the same box  :undecided:

either way 1st two ratios are too short or could it be all the torque i have

Yeah, the masses of torque you have won't help!!

The only benefit of it I can see, is lower motorway cruising revs/slightly better mpg.  You'd have to do an awful lot of miles for the conversion to pay itself back, though.

interestingly a mate of mine owned an A4 TDI 130 with a 5 speed box and i noticed that at 70mph in 5th his sat at 2000rpm exactly the same as mine in 6th

anyhoo - to try and get back on track - look out for crashed Leon Cupra's - i think they use the same 6 speed box
