I just got quoted by Quinn Direct for my 1997, 1.4 mk3 with tinted windows, new exhaust system and a body kit (which I havent actually got yet) = £650, after the deposit of £150.
I havent even been driving long and it's my first car, im 18. Wtf? Are my eyes deceiving me? Each time I added a new mod to the list, the premium seemed to get cheaper! The car has a thatcham alarm and I added the pass plus certificate to the list, but surely it wouldnt lower it that much?
Im well chuffed

Is that online or by phone? Phoning them could tell another story...
-
Heh, yeah it's online. Easier and much cheaper by the look of things.
-
Sounds a good price bearing in mind your age, if it's for real. Not much more than I'm paying for my GTi.
Build up some NCB; I see now how important it is.

..who was this with? :smug:

Quinn Direct mate, says it in the first line

seconded
if it checks out tho then looks a unbelievable deal
-
is it likely to not check out? surely whatevers offered online is offered regardless?
-
if all the modifications are declaired it should be , but it depends
make sure your double covered , you know what insurers are like for dodgin payouts
-
Sounds about right, nothing really spectacular.
Dont forget its a 1.4 so that keeps the cost down alot, but yeah you have added some mods so you havent done bad there
As for the quotes online, they should stick to the online quote otherwise whats the point if the online quote is all rubbish? people will ring and just put the phone down if they say something way off the quote.
I used confused.com in the past, it will list from cheapest to most expensive and it will give you the company and phone number and even a reference so you dont have to reel off all your details again

online quotes (particularly thru comparison sites etc) are not that accurate as they usually ask the bare minimum required to calculate the quote and base the rest on assumptions, then when you go to take that out they ask the rest of the questions and often you find the price changes.
