Don't know why my handbreak light is stayin on??? all the pads been checked and are like brand new, break fluid is at max level, also i checked the button under the handbreak pushing it on and off but it just stays on
If anybody else have had the same problem it would be very apprieciated if you could let me know.
thanks...

I belive it comes on with the ABS light to show certain ABS Faults.. is the ABS light on and does it work?
Also check the conector and the fluid level sensor on the top of the fluid bottle.
-
i just checked the ABS light and the bulb as been took out???
-
ahh they do that to get it through MOT.
Basicly its had a fault all along and now its got another fault causing the handbrake light to show as well. If you put a bulb in you will find they are both on together. I think its trying to tell you multiple sensors are faulty or something. Some one else will give you more info on that one.

First thing to check when buying a Mk3 is the ABS light!!!
Best get it checked out dude!
-
ok, thanks for the posts... it will have to go to the garage ggggrrr the m,o,t is due soon.
-
Best bet is to get it hooked up to vag com to see if it is throwing up any fault codes which it will almost certainly if there is a abs problem.
-
Use a multi meter to test the resistance of each sensor, its what i done, and i found the faulty sensors and repalced them, problem solved.
But remember the light may stay on for a few miles when fixed.
Also try wire brush cleaning the disc with holes in that spins to get the speed off.

LOL, all of a sudden today its working fine, it was going to the garage next week aswell...
JOB DONE!!!
-
I should not have said anything :lipsrsealed: its back on today...
must have a faulty sensor somewhere.

Get your fault codes read. Sounds like you may have an intermittent sensor. This will not show up with resistance checks but will be logged by the ECU. If you state your location someone might be near with the right software.
