Hey guys, sorry to double post but i thought that more mk2 owners would know than general audio people but i wasnt sure so im posting this in both!
Im trying to wire up my head unit so that its off when the ignitions off and on when the ignitions on like most cars as mine is currently on all the time unless i turn the thing off manually.
Basically I have no idea where i can wire it to easily. I was wondering if i could chop this yellow and black cable, and then wire both the heated rear window switch and my head unit to the same source?

Both my head units red and yellow cables are currently both together so i think that putting the yellow one on a switched source from the ignition would allow me to do what I want?
If not or if anyone has a better place/way could you please let me know!
Cheers,
Dec

Your ignition has an ignition live wire in it, simply route a wire from there.
If not then in the mk3 the heater controlers have ACC+ Cables which can be used, check these out, or anything really thats running 12v with a capable fuse. DONT piggy-back a 15a Stereo ona 5amp rear demister you will see smoke :) lol
