Title: 150 bhp or 180bhp ?

hi
i'm trying to sell my wifes car at the minute and i'm no sure if its got the 150bhp or 180bhp turbo engine in it, it was first registered on 19/03/01 and its on a Y plate, the engine code starts AUM.

Its a 150 pal. With VVT, dbw throttle and k03s turbo.

Seeing at it's a fairly early AUM, it could just have a KO3!!

ps It's deffo a 150, though. (5 speed/110 KW).

No - A common misconception, my friend!!!  Some of the crossover AUM cars (coming from the KO3'd ARZ) in early 2001 still had the KO3.  The initial change was the introduction of VVT. :wink:

 i got 2 of my friend got aum engine and their car is 2000 model ..... got k03s turbo ! think arz either got k03 or k03s but i hvnt heard of AUM engine got k03 turbo ...

  so if someone got aum engine how can u tell which turbo it got on the car .....

Looking at the plate on it, by remapping it and being dissapointed, like he said mate its only the ones without the vvt on it, you can tell if its got that by if it doesnt have a valve counter on the right hand side under the rocker ;)

KO3-S's have one of the following P/No.'s written on the blue plaque on the turbo:-

KO3-052
KO3-053
KO3-058

They also have 8 impeller blades as opposed to the 11 of the KO3 (although you won't see this unless you do some disassembling :wink:)

That's because some cars sit in a field/car park for months before they get registered (eg. cancelled orders etc) & some new cars get registered as soon as they arrive in the country. :afro:
