Title: Steerings noisy :(
Post by: Burnsy on 27 April 2004, 19:04
When i turn to the left i can hear what i can describe as squeaking rubber coming from the steering coloumn.
Will it be a gator or maybe a bush ?
Im not mechaniclly minded so any knowledge would be gratefull so i can get it sorted as i dont want any probs going to Gti international do i  ::)

Are you sure it is the column and not coming from the engine bay?
Top mounts are common to make that sort of noise.

Wouldnt it make the noise if i steered the car both ways though ?
If it was the power steering belt
And dont do it when the weathers cold only when its warm or the cars warmed up  ::)
