Title: what 3.5" dash speakers to go for..

The UK does not really have many 3.5" speakers so thinking of going via the US...

Opinions on the following please...

personally - None.  Buy a set of components and stick them in the door pockets  :wink:

to reopen this topic, can you get 3.5" speakers that are half decent? i dont want big speakers in the doors and have 6x9's in the back, so not that bothered by bass (not that bass is possible from 3.5" :grin:)

A mate of mine had some little JBL speakers in his dash and they sounded perfectly good to me. Obviously they're not going to blow you away, but they do the job.

The only thing is, i wouldn't buy them brand new as they're pretty pricey for what they are!

i had infinity refrence 3.5's in my 1st mk2 n tbh they wernt worth the price

im in no rush to get replacements, was just wondering if it was worth it. i know ones in the door are the answer but dont want to weigh the car down with speakers for trackdays

Nope ,im selling them because ive up graded to 4 inch MB quart components in my dash location .

These 3.5 inch speakers have got a larger tweeter from the MB quart 6x9 speakers .
They sound more  clearer and detailed .

Im not out to shaft anybody & Mb Quart are not a sh!te brand .

thats fair enough, but i asked if it was possible to get good sound out of some, if i wanted to buy some i would have posted in the wanted section :wink:

Sorry mate ,my mistake  :smiley:.

But which ever speaker you put in there is going to give limited frequency responce ,ie very high only .
If you can live with that then 3.5 inch speakers are fine .
