hello were abouts are the ecu and fuel pump relays located on the mk3 8v (agg) has any one got any pictures they could take as im gunna do mine and im not sure witch ones they are and i didnt understand the diagrams on the dia thread :embarassed:.thanks
-
i think the fuel pump has number 99 on it and the ECU as 197 on it. the ECU is bottom row to the very right and fuel pump is the big one with 99 on it :D

167 and 30 the numbers are, all the relays are on top of the fusebox, you'll need to remove some trim and pull the fusebox down after unclipping it each side

I too had this problem, it would stall all the time then after a while would cut out totally. Turned out to be the coil sensor pack so the coil was just over heating and cutting the engine. My local garage diagnosed the problem and sorted it out (new coil and coil sensor). It's been running sweet ever since

hahaha i changed the wrong relay then  I was told it was 99 for the fuel pump :undecided: Mabey the relay is still the problem after all
-
Could well be, it's not the only thing that can cause cut-outs, but it is the most common. Could be the coil, engine speed sensor, or the ignition switch which is getting more common these days

what is the ignition switch and were is that located?and sorry to sound dumb but why would that cause problems?
