Title: MOT Grrr

Car had its mot yest!
not as bad as i though it was gonna be but still not gr8!
all 4 shocks have failed
need a new steering rack
head lights need to be adjusted
need to fix the bonnet catch on properly
fix the boot so it opens
get a new rear passanger side door handle
and get sum exhaust rubbers insted of cable ties!!

upside is it didnt fail on breaks :)
or emmisions!!
woohooo!!

anyone know a rough price for a refurbed steering rack??
and where i could buy one from??

German & swedish for the rack - £30 - 40 I should imagine

You might not need to change the rack - there's a little adjustment bolt at the bottom of the rack which takes up the side-side slack. Also, make sure all four retaining nuts on the rack itself are tight.

I've seen that mentioned in the Haynes manual but never investigated. Have you had a play with it, does it make any difference?

Lol, no, when my rack was slack, I just stuck in PAS, never bothered making an effort to tighten it up.
